These radiation treatments are all good for early stages with small to medium size tumors. However, these treatments were never designed to deal with large sized, late stage, and reoccurring tumors.
Current Radiation Therapy (RT) Kills EVERYTHING…the cancer/tumor, and the good immunity agents. Thus leaving the patients defenseless and creating an immunosuppressive environment.
As a reminder that for these patients’ Conventional RT did not work and that these are large, late stage and/or reoccurring. However, this is an example of using SFRT in conjunction with a conventional treatment being successful!
After high dose, many of the other cells around die.
The abscopal effect is a hypothesis in the treatment of metastatic cancer whereby shrinkage of untreated tumors occur concurrently with shrinkage of tumors within the scope of the localized treatment.

Spatially fractionated radiation therapy (SFRT) is a radiation therapy technique that allows for safe dose escalation for radiation treatment. Specialized beam collimation creates high-dose peaks organized throughout a target volume with intervening low-dose valleys.
FLASH radiotherapy (FLASH-RT) is a novel radiotherapy technology defined as a single ultra-high dose-rate (≥ 40 Gy/s) radiotherapy. Compared with conventional dose-rate irradiation, FLASH irradiation is 400-fold more rapid than conventional irradiation.
